An Evening with Alex Edelman

May 12 @ 7:30pm  |  Mandeville Auditorium, UCSD

Comedy and Conversation in an encore performance by the Emmy and Tony winning comic. One of the most critically hailed comedians of his generation, Alex Edelman is best known for solo shows blurring the line between his stand-up comedy roots and narrative-driven storytelling. His Tony Award winning Just for Us, played more than 500 performances worldwide including on Broadway before premiering as an HBO original comedy special, earning him a place on the Time 100 list and an Emmy award. Alex plays Adam Cooper on the comedy series The Paper and has been featured on TV with Seth Myers, Stephen Colbert, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel.

“Alex Edelman is everything we want from Jewish comedy. A little Brooklyn, a little Borscht Belt, and just a little Black Hat, he’s hilarious, scabrous, and sharper than a mohel’s knife. It’s a complicated time for Jewish comics, as it is for the Jewish people, and Alex is pointing a fresh way forward for both. What a joy that JFest is bringing him to San Diego!”
